#HolyCow - World Series win - after 108 years
Graeme Byrd
The curse was broken. Wow. The longest any Major League Baseball team has gone without winning the World Series - 108 years.
Yes, I'm a San Francisco Giants first and foremost, but have always cheered for the Chicago Cubs on the side (of course when they were not playing the Giants) - I guess that is what happens when your family is from Chicago. As a Giants fan, I know that feeling and emotion a Cubs fan is going through - during Game 7 and after. In 2010 I cried when the Giants won their first World Series since moving to San Francisco. To see the team you grow up with, the team that you stood by during the good, and especially the bad years, win the World Series is an unforgettable moment. I hope the Cubs fans get to see it again in their lifetime - as each series is special.
Growing up, I always said all of life's questions could be answered by baseball and Bob Dylan (I'm sensing another post about this soon). When I said this as a kid, I'd get lots of weird looks (more about the Bob Dylan part), but this series showed us the great things about people and life. And to me it seems like everyone became a Cubs fan. Everyone had some roots in the Windy City. My roots are real as my parents grew up on the north side.
