Back from London Climate Action Week

Graeme Byrd

Some weeks remind you why you do the work. London Climate Action Week was one of those weeks for me.

I just got back from London, where I spent the week representing SINAI . We had real conversations with sustainability leaders from some of the world's largest organizations. Not panels and polished keynotes, but honest talks about what is working, what isn't, and what comes next.

One message came through in every room: the ambition is there. Now organizations are focused on execution.

What stood out

Four themes kept coming up all week, no matter who we were talking with.

  • Sustainability is held to the same standard as any business investment. Leaders want measurable outcomes, financial impact and operational value. Good intentions are no longer enough to get a project funded.

  • Data matters, but only when it drives decisions. High-quality data is table stakes. What leaders need is the context to make real decisions, not just better reports.

  • Climate, nature and social priorities belong together. More organizations are tackling them as one agenda. Those that treat them in isolation are falling behind.

  • Transparency beats polish. Stakeholders expect honesty about progress and tradeoffs, not a perfect narrative.

From the reporting layer to the core of the business

The biggest shift I saw is where sustainability now sits. Leading organizations have moved it out of the reporting layer and into the core of business decisions. It is tied to resilience, operational excellence and long-term growth.

That is where enterprise decarbonization is headed. For years the conversation was about disclosure and compliance. Now it is about running a better business, and the companies that get this are pulling ahead. It is exactly what we are building SINAI to do.

Better together

As a partnerships person, the most energizing part of the week was seeing this shift happen in real time alongside partners who share the same mission. It was great to see the teams from GIST Impact, Novisto and VCM in London. No single company gets an organization from ambition to action on its own. Together, we can help the organizations that are ready to move get there faster.

Here's to moving from ambition to action!
